Just had my service turned up today in a new house build. Techs are not allowed in the home currently so the install went a different that normal. They pulled the fiber cable back outside of the house to the PVC LB and installed a box on it and patched it there to a 5 meter fiber patch cable which he pushed back into the house. Tech left a 3200M modem with SFP onboard on my porch which i setup in the basement and connected the fiber patch cable. I asked about a seperate ONT which he said they are not installing currently with the restrictions about accessing the customer home. Worked out well for me as i was after the SFP anyway so i didn't even need to ask for it! Pulled the SFP out of the 3200 and put it into my Mikrotik CCR1009 and I haven't had a hiccup out of it all day so far. Solid 950/950 speeds which will make my working from home situation a little quicker when moving data projects back to the office.
