[BC] Upgraded from Telus15 to 25 with new T1200H router

I am sure this was discussed many times, but I can’t make it work. Had it all working nicely with old dinosaur Thompson modem and DIR655 router. Could access my NAS from outside, but Internet speed was poor. Talk to tech support and ended up with new T1200H and was told I can simply change it to modem only with bridging. Unfortunately it does not appear all that simple. After few tries called support, but was told this is not supported by Telus technical support. Hmm.. when I ordered upgrade I clearly specified I would like to use my own router as I have all my network nicely configured and I am familiar with the router. What I ended up after tech support guidance is disconnected Wifi, and router connected to #1 Ethernet outlet. Well that is all nice but T1200H is still dishing out IP address to my old router and old router has reserved IP address for most of my computers and NAS. Obviously I am unable to gain access to my NAS from outside. :( I tried this before I called the support in different sequences, but no luck. Connected my laptop to new T1200H Ethernet port#1. Changed password for access. In advanced setup under port bridging Port1 Bridge clicked “Enable” and “Apply. A note comes up to wait but after about 10 minutes one finds out its all frozen and nothing works till I reset it back with paper clip and start over with same result. I also thought that since I enabled to bridge it no longer gives my laptop IP address so I connected T1200H to phone jack, My router to #1 Ethernet port, restart the T1200H, restart my old router DIR655 and no internet. Can some good folk shine some light on what am I doing wrong, as after 6 hours and my wife nagging to stop messing with internet I am plain tired. All I want is to access my NAS from outside.
