I was pondering on the Telus IPTV, for our next location in life.....
Yes. I know. Non-sanctioned setup.
Is it possible to use a dual-band(simultaneous) router(2.4Ghz/5Ghz) with the Telus wireless boxes? I know, IGMP filtering, to avoid multi-cast floods, which I hope DD-WRT can separate between the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi channels...
The Telus IPTV boxes run on 5Ghz wireless, plus they also have a Ethernet port to avoid the initial "you need the Ven501!" during a Telus tech setup.

I am going to guess they have no special bond to a Telus Ven501 and are Wifi security channel programmable.

Also, we don't need the PVR/DVR, since we only need the 2 wireless IPTV boxes for service, which I guess is no problem.
That makes it a $300 +tax investment(no contract and owning the boxes).
