As indicated earlier, TELUS is considering some changes to your onscreen TV guide. Please take a moment to review these suggested changes before you answer the questions in this section.
As you may have noticed, many new channels (especially HD channels) have been gradually added over the past two years. As a result, not all channels are currently organized by genre or theme. For example, all your movie channels are not grouped together in your current onscreen TV guide.
The main change TELUS is proposing in the new onscreen TV guide is to reorganize your TV channels into genres or themes. The proposed regrouping of channels will result in a number of changes, but first, the things that will not change in the new lay-out are:
Your PVR recordings, and your PVR recording settings, will be retained. You do not have to reprogram your PVR.
Your parental control settings will remain in place.
The main proposed change is to group channels into genres.
All channels will be renumbered
HD channels will be listed by genre (e.g., movies, sports and news)
Each genre is grouped in its own number series (e.g., all primetime networks are in the 100 series)
SD Only channels: There are a few shows only offered in SD. They will be included with the HD channels. (An HD icon will indicate which channels are HD)
Note: If you want to watch a show in SD, the SD channels would also be listed by genre in their own section of the guide.
Still no option to hide channels you don't subscribe to! Lame.
