Hi, so I had a bit of a mishap with TELUS. Two days ago I wanted to switch my Shaw mobile and Freedom mobile to Koodo or Telus, (whichever one had to better deal)
So the rep says ok I will look and find a plan with Koodo that is 3g, 3 GB data, Canada-wide calling, and text for $35 a month. (I ordered it and 2 sims) Now I did get the discount on the activation on both lines so that's $100, $50 for each line. So I am happy a bit cause I need to switch from Shaw Mobile since they will be switching to either Rogers or Videotron-Freedom.
Now I was only paying $15 a month for Shaw mobile with $10 for 1 GB data add-on and that 1 GB usually lasted me at most 3 months. So with Shaw Mobile, I was happy because of the low price.
Now when I was talking to the sales rep he offered me a Telus Smart Home camera I told him I am in an apartment suite and he says this camera is perfect. So I opened the camera the next day and it turns out that this model is only compatible with a doorbell that is wired. (like HUH? why would the rep say it's good for me if it needs a doorbell? (no apartment has a doorbell)
So I had to call Telus back and was on the phone for about an hour and talked to about 4 different departments and was finally able to cancel the Camera. I had to repackage the box and send my info and take it back to Canada Post. The camera was gonna cost $15 a month for 3 years and yes I know I could buy a door camera on Amazon for like $40 dollars too.
The good thing about this is that since I have Telus Home Internet 300, I asked the loyalty rep if she could give me a discount for activating two Koodo sims and she gave me a $20 discount a month on my home internet.
So overall I got what I needed and that was the two sims to switch from Shaw and Freedom and I got a cheaper Home Internet deal. Sad about the camera but I will look on Amazon. :)
