Hi all,
I have 100mbps DSL, 4 CIS330s, and whatever the non-4K PVR is. Modem is a 2200, bridged. Port 1 going into Ubiquity gear for most of my devices, port 2 going into another switch that goes direct to the HD boxes and PVR. Finding the 330's menu getting a bit pokey.
My understanding is, I can replace the PVR with a 4K model. But it seems like the only new HD boxes are the 5050's.. which are wireless only (boo!). Is that right? Or is there a newer model of HD box?
Can the 5050's use Ethernet yet? If not, can I join them up to my own access point instead of whatever Telus wants to use (e.g. can you just poke around in the settings and join it to another wireless ssid?) I haven't used one myself personally..hence all the questions.
If I just re-signed a 2 year contract (they matched the Shaw 150 deal.. sort of) is there anyway to get the boxes for free under that? Or would I have to sign a new contract? talk to a tech directly? talk to retentions maybe? Say Shaw is offering me x,y,z?
Thanks
