Hi.
I'm using Telus Internet service and I find that more than one PS4 with one public IP seem like causing NAT type problem.
I have two PS4 systems and this is causing NAT type problems in games. When I was with Shaw I just hooked the switch to Shaw modem and got two separate IPs - so no problem there.
I searched a lot from Google and most of them are outdated and did not apply to my situation.
I do not have Optik TV I only have Internet service from Telus (Internet 25).
Here are what I tried and did not really work well (i.e., randomly gave open/moderate NAT type):
1. Put both PS4 to have dedicated internal IPs using the DHCP reservation function of the modem (firmware version 31.121L.13 - the latest as far as I know).
2. No DMZ setup and used pure uPnP function of the modem:
Random open/moderate NAT type. uPnP also automatically added port forwarded and the ports did not change.
3. One PS4 into DMZ and the other with required ports forwarded. I had uPnP disabled since it kept adding ports for the DMZ IP. Weird and annoying:
PS4 that is in DMZ seems like to have open NAT type but the other port forwarded PS4 gets random open/moderate NAT type. With the same settings and uPnP enabled, both PS4s get random NAT type.
Those are all I have tried so far. Is there more I can try? If I can't find a solution, I will have to switch back to Shaw :( Very disappointed with Telus Internet. Its technology and modem seem ancient.
Some help would be appreciated. Telus representative had no idea.
