I'm new to Telus and just had internet 50(bonded) installed at my premise a month ago.
The gateway was however installed on the first floor of the house instead of the basement where my room is located. The reason for the tech doing this was because the phone jacks located in my room does not directly wire towards the demarc box. Instead, it wires towards another phone jack on the first floor of the premise. (I was not able to locate the destination of the jack by the time the tech was here...)
Using powerline adapters is not the right solution for me as the transmission rate is pretty bad despite using the best adapters available.
Now that I have the destination of the jack, I am considering relocating the modem inside my room to eliminate poor connectivity but am not sure if it is going to work since the phone jack of my room is wired to another jack instead of the demarc.
Would be great if any of you could give suggestions:)
