A crew from a Telus contractor just came by and installed a massive new piece of a equipment on the pole in front of my house. They say it's for the new Telus public WiFi system to compete with Shaw's public WiFi. Apparently it also includes some cellular component. The funny thing is that this is in the middle of a residential neighbourhood. What reason could there be to put a public WiFi hotspot here? And nobody asked the neighbours if they wanted new WiFi and cellular transmitters here. Does Telus have permission to put these things up on the BC Hydro poles?
