I've posted most of this in the TS forum as well.
When emailing (via K9 mail) from my phone Samsung Galaxy Note 3, set up with out.teksavvy.com, emails are sent when I'm on wifi, but not when I'm on Telus LTE : I get a message saying;"negative smtp reply: 554 out.teksavvy.com"; The same occurs with my wife's Note 3 as well.
All settings are correct:
SMTP Server: out.teksavvy.com
Port: 1025
Security Type: None
Requires sign-in: Checked ON
Username: ( FullEmailAddress )
Password: ( Password )
Note that these phones& using out.teksavvy.com work fine on our wifi network, and in fact this issue on cellular mobile only started maybe a month or 6 weeks ago.
Additionally, gmail through the same email program works fine with the gmail smtp server (IOW, I am NOT using gmail with the web app).
We checked our sent& folder and can see emails that went out in Nov. that we know were sent from cellular mobile, not wifi, so out.teksavvy.com worked fine up until then.
IOW, Telus Mobility works fine with non-Teksavvy outgoing servers, and the Teksavvy outgoing sever works fine with non-Telus Mobility ISPs.
Update:, I've gone back & forth between Telus & TS.
Telus says that out.teksavvy.com is some sort of authorized server with them, but that TS is blocking Telus.
TS says that they have problems with Telus & Koodoo and advised me to change my smtp server depending on whether I'm on wireless in the house or on cellular out of the house - IOW, whenever I walk in & out of the door!
Note that this goes in & out. I've had this Telus/Teksavvy setup for just under 2 years and most of the time it has worked. But it was out most of a month this past Dec. - Jan. I've had a day or two this week when it works, then it just doesn't. I can't believe they can't isolate the problem - obviously from TS Support's response, they know it exists and is not confined to my case.
