I am moving my self upisland to parksville this month and have been wanting to upgrade my internet speeds for awhile now. I am currently on the 15 plan, I work in telus retail and have a pretty decent grasp on the technical side of things. So I used partners to see if 50 was avaliable up my new place, Said it was awesome!
So I called Channel care and I asked about getting optik TV and Internet 50. (Its what I wanted at first) So he informed me that Its impossible to get TV and internet 50. (That seemed weird to me so I gave up and went to do my own research. Deciding that well if thats the case then I would rather just have internet 50 no TV.
So I proceed to call back and ask about just getting internet 50. Then im told that its not avaliable at my new address(Not sure how their tool is different then the retail tool but i digress) So long story short i'm told that 25 is avaliable.
So I have two questions, From what I've read here Since I can get 25 I should be eligable for internet 50 through loop bonding. Am I crazy or is channel care?
Second question, Since mainly my intent is gaming and hosting a minecraft server. Am I better off with internet 25 anyhow. From what I read loop bonding can give irratic ping times. However the extra Up speed is really what I want. Download isnt as important. Also how often on 25 do you guys see the 5 mbps upload in a speed test, I dont want to pay for the upgrade to get like .5mbps improvement on upstream. I know thats dependant on where I am and such but a general idea would be nice.
