Telus cancelled our Calgary fibre rollout

So after 25 years as a Telus Internet customer, I'm now on Rogers' hybrid fibre/coax. I was hoping to get Telus 1gbps fibre to support our home business but shortly after their rollout started up they shut it down. I called Telus to see what the problem was but they just said it's still in progress. After 2 years of "in progress", I gave up. Rogers is now delivering 1gb/0.25gb down to my house. Some will say "ya but the connectivity is shared" but I haven't seen any degradation of service after a couple of months of usage (incl speedtests). I understand Rogers' is rolling out a DOCSIS 4.0 modem that can deliver low latency symmetrical multi-gigabit Internet connectivity. They were testing the new modem in Calgary. I will be looking into it for cloud servive uploads. Interestingly Telus had my Internet service listed as "Dial Up Internet". It sure felt like it! Anyone think Telus has just given up and will happily let Rogers own the internet market?
