Hello,
I am a new customer for Koodo Home Internet. They have deliver me a cable modem Sercomm DM1000 and a Telus Router Model B21a that looks like an essential oil diffuser. Signal is provided by Cogeco from a fiber cable and then converted back to a coaxial cable and then in the house connected to the modem cable.
I am wondering if I can bypass the Telus router and use my own router directly connected to the Sercomm DM1000. My test result is that I can't get a WAN IP from the Sercomm DM1000 modem. No options from the modem GUI can be changed on the advanced tab with the user technician and the default password. Is there a way to setup it?
I have contacted Koodo/Telus, very hard to get help and a technician from Koodo tell me that is not possible and only the Telus equipment can connect to the cable modem.
Anyone faced the same issue and solved the problem ?
Thank you and have a nice day!
