I'm not sure if this is an appropriate topic for here but I can't find another forum to post to.
I just received a registered letter from Telus and all it contained was the marketing letter that I need to upgrade my ADT because 3G was being sun set. Same letter I'd already received through snail mail multiple times already.
Some of my peeves:
- I've already been quoted $1,200 to replace my system since they say it can't be upgrade. Really? They can't swap out a 3G for a 4/5G module? Funny that that took a phone call. They would know if my system was upgradeable.
- No one will confirm that when 3G is dropped by Telus by Internet connection will still work. In other words, all I'm losing is my dual redunancy.
- Can't find any statement when Telus (or other Canadian carriers) will be dropping 3G unlike the US carriers which have posted end dates. For Telus I've seen everything from Dec'22 to Dec'25.
I'm looking to see if anyone has additional insights. At the moment this seems to be a cash grab. My current system works fine.
Thanks
