. Faster and faster we go. Fibre plans as of June 10 2020: 1,500 Mbps download and 940 Mbps upload . Personal hardware limitations of maximum 1000Mbps per unit might apply, so ensure you are capable of those speeds in single units or as combined units. 940/940 750/750 300/300 150/150 75/75 25/25 15/15 Pricing may vary. Thread for Dec 7 2018 fibre speed upgrades https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32213845-Internet-750-and-950-now-available-in-FIFA-communties . . edit Jan 19 2018: Telus has published a new version of the fibre pages... https://www.telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/new Any links in this thread that no longer work as before, oh well... ------------------------------------------------- ####################################### telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/communities https://www.telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/communities ########################################## *** Depending on your local fibre infrastructure, some of the faster speeds may not be available in your area. *** Generic fibre town list, scroll down on this post. . Telus fibre Gigabit speed in various configurations. Full Gigabit speed may be a combination of download + upload https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31766392- . edit: May 24 2018 https://www.albernivalleynews.com/news/new-telus-fibre-optic-customers-in-tofino-and-ucluelet-may-be-unlisted/ Telus media relations manager Liz Sauvé said in a statement that the default setting on the new fibre optic network is to unlist phone numbers. . edit: July 2018. Telus has started using an SFP module to remove the need for the optical network terminal (ONT) box. This allows for just the Actiontec T3200m to eventually be the only needed hardware. I don't know if the T3200m can use its phone ports for phone, which are on the ONT. Thread on an install: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32052910-BC-Telus-Purefibre-experience-Overall-Extremely-Happy-SFP-install . edit: July 12 2018. July 13 2018 to July 16 (special deals?), Telus will make the 250/250 into 300/300 (due to Shaw's new package of Internet-300/20). Areas stuck on 150/150 will then have 300/300 available. Pricing is uneven though. Interesting pricing depending on region, so far. For 300/300: Regular $90 interior BC (in the already existing Gigabit towns). $110 regular for random town...White Rock BC (formerly maximum Internet-150/150). Pricing images https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32038462- . [att=1] . http://www.canada.com/business/telus+raises+dividend+profit/15598996/story.html In early 2018, Telus will be able to serve half of its customer territory with its most advanced fibre-optic service to the home and by the end of 2019 the goal is to have fibre optics in two-thirds of its footprint, he said. Telus is also preparing for a move into fifth-generation wireless technology, which Entwistle expects to begin commercialization by 2019 and ramp up thereafter. . There is a difference between "PureFibre" and "Fibre" areas, in regards to pricing and packages. Messy. . For the faster speeds and heavy usage... Don't forget the "unlimited" add-on for $15 extra https://www.telus.com/en/bc/internet/new/unlimited-data-usage . both of these links, towns shown, slightly differ at posting time Telus is updating their pages to remove the fibre.telus.com pages https://fibre.telus.com/ ####################################### telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/communities https://www.telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/communities ########################################## . . Edit June 20 2017: For some reason, the maps on the fibre.telus.com pages have disappeared and replaced with 'enter your address'. Maps are still on the telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/ pages. Some map areas have coverage beyond the map, as they have not been fully updated. ----June 17 2017: Telus now is offering Gigabit Internet in some areas: 950/250 example: https://www.telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/terrace/products Those areas pages that start with telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/ and not fibre.telus.com --- As of end of May 2017 more areas are now getting 250/250 https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31436508-Fibre-Internet-250-250-now-more-places-in-BC Telus also has fibre to the home in newly built areas of towns, that may not be shown on their list. . The Fibre Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is the Telus modem. You can plug your personal router to the ONT and get service. If you also have Optik TV, you can plug gigabit switch to the ONT and use your router to one port with the Telus Actiontec to another port on the switch. You will get 2 WAN ip address (1 for each). Using your own router for both TV and Internet, you have to deal with TV multicast which can overwhelm your Wifi and shut down your router connectivity. You should also be able to use the Actiontec T series port1 bridge mode while on fibre. The Telus call center script readers will not support anything beyond their all in one Actiontec gateway. So deal with your own issues with your equipment. The ONT also has 2 POTS (plain old telephone service) ports for your phone, which can be adapted to connect to your current house phone lines if you don't have cordless phones. The ONT install might not be supplied with a UPS(uninteruptable power supply) if you don't subscribe to Telus home phone. You can use your own UPS to power the ONT. . ####################################### telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/communities https://www.telus.com/en/bc/internet/fibre/communities ########################################## . This amount is in addition to the $13.7 million that TELUS has already committed to investing in its incumbent territory. By 2021,TELUS will have invested over $300 million in its fibre-optic network. “Thanks to the support of the federal and provincial governments, we will be offering high-speed Internet access to 99% of the population of Eastern Quebec by 2021,” said François Gratton, Executive Vice-President, TELUS Partner Solutions, and President, Business Solutions East and TELUS Québec. “Since 2013, we’ve invested upwards of $300 million to expand our fibre-optic network in Quebec so that thousands of residents, businesses and public establishments can have access to a world-class network at competitive prices. “Thanks to the power of fibre, connected cities and towns will become regular users of the latest technology, which will enable 148 communities in Eastern Quebec, along with the 172 communities where we already offer the service, to connect at speeds almost 20 times faster than the new standards recommended by the CRTC,” . . For those who don't have 'credit history' or have 'bad credit', you choose 'no credit check' and will then pay a deposit which is calculated on what products you got, and that deposit (not available for payment use) will stay on your account until Telus says (several months later) you are now approved to use that deposit as a payment (balance) to your account. Credit check can be done with name, birth date, and address. No S.I.N. nor Drivers License number needed, as per the Privacy Commissioner.
