To address some wifi issues, I don't want to use my Telus Actiontec T3200M wifi and instead plan on installing a mesh system.
To address other connectivity issues (VLAN, VPN) that aren't possible with the T3200M, I plan on putting it in bridge mode and using a wired router.
So... what is the T3200M doing at that point? It is basically a bulky waste of space acting as a conduit between my fibre and my network.
Can I eliminate it? If the router I get has an SFP+ cage, would I be able to plug that directly in and remove the T3200M entirely? Or is there some proprietary/billing/monitoring issue to be concerned about?
Thanks.
