If I'm not mistaken, up until this year, when Telus was building underground fibre in the communities they would pull conduit to every house, right?
Well, they are in my community now and they laid conduit for the "trunk", but only current Telus customers could opt to get conduit to the house too. At the same time, "sales" guys had list of current customers and visited only them. According to one of them, connecting every house in the community did not yield many new contracts, and they were "losing money" (his words), so they changed approach this year.
Every Telus rep I talked to, on the phone, chat or in person, cannot do anything about it. Telus' system currently shows "no service available" in entire neighborhood for everyone who currently does not have Telus services. Their answer is "Call us next spring/summer. We will gather group of potential customers in your neighborhood and send crews again to drill from trunk to your demarc point for conduit. Then we will send someone else to pull fibre through. Then third person to do install." WTF? :huh:
