Hi everyone,
So I've got the 3200M modem and I'm desperately trying to get what I THOUGHT would be a simple solution up and working without much luck.
The situation is that I want to use a VPN for my NAS, my Apple TV and a few other devices to connect to the internet through said VPN, as neither the NAS nor Apple TV have VPN functionality built in.
My system is set up currently as follows:
Main Bedroom - 3200M -----> External Cable to front of house/Telus WiFi Extenders ----> Switch/Wireless Switch
So in the living room I have one connector that hooks in the connection to my Telus TV and supplies all my other devices, including a wired connection to a wireless extender that feeds to others.
The problem is that I'm trying to set a GL.Inet AR300M as a way to interconnect the devices to a VPN.
I've been able to, sort of, connect this to a degree. It isn't perfect and for sure I'm getting a double-nat situation where I can't get ports forwarding through correctly. So it works, yes, but not properly and it's not working well.
The BIGGEST issue even above and beyond the problem speeds is the ability to communicate in my existing network, which is 192.168.1.x versus the AR300M which is 192.168.8.x
If I wasn't in need of communicating back and forth with my 1.x network, this wouldn't be an issue - But I am, I need to be able to allow those devices to communicate properly.
However that just isn't working. I've been at this for so long and just when I think I'm about there, I'm not and all goes to crap.
I know there are options to do port bridging, and while I'm somewhat versed (I got THIS far, so I'm giving myself some credit there) - going into things like iptables is a foreign language my brain forgot in the late 90s.
Is there any way to easily do this or have I just thrown away an entire forever trying to get this up and working? I REALLY want to believe there's just a few small things I'm missing, and that someone either here or on the GL.iNet forums can grok for me, but I am starting to lose hope.
Thanks in advance for your help. I'm going to wipe my hands from this tonight. It's frustrating as I can access everything from within the .8.x network, but when in the 1.x network it's like it's completely gone, not including the issues with the double-nat that's created.
Also, because I only want a FEW devices to be going through the VPN, I can't just switch everything over, especially considering devices connected to the WiFi Boosters need to access my internet 1.x network.
Sigh. Well, it's been a night...
