I've had Shaw cable internet and TV for many years but changed a couple of years ago to get better internet speeds through dsl. Last year Telus installed fibre to my house so I ordered Optik TV as a "residential service" while keeping my internet on dsl as it was billed to my home based business. Because I need more speed I called and asked if they could activate internet through the fibre connection and deactivate my dsl connection but I was told because the fibre is a residential service if they activate internet through it I will lose TV channels. I thought fibre had huge capability and I've never heard this before. Has anyone else run into this? Also, they gave me an Actiontec T1200h when they installed the fibre connection and I use it to wirelessly connect to my main tv's optik box. The manual doesn't mention anything about fibre just dsl. Can anyone explain this to me, I am a bit confused.
