I've noticed lately that the IMAP service getting slower and more flakey, even at home connected directly to Telus. I have two mailboxes, almost every time I start up Windows Live Mail, I get error the error below, always from the same folder in the same mailbox, which ironically is an empty folder.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Telus (XXXXXXXX) account. Header download for the 'Deleted Items' folder did not complete. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Server Response: Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Server: 'imap.telus.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): No
There is nothing wrong with my PC. It is fast, has lots of memory and lots of free disk space.
When I'm not on the Telus network, I often get errors simply opening webmail.telus.net. It's pretty pathetic.
