Hi, just thought I would reach out to the folks on here to see if anyone is currently using SIP Trunks provided by TELUS.
I'm currently working with a non-profit agency in B.C. and have just reached out to TELUS to look at moving our POTS lines to a SIP trunk for use with our Asterisk based IP-PBX system. Our TELUS account manager confirmed that they can deliver SIP TRUNK's in our area, however because I'm not using a CISCO or Avaya system they won't entertain my request so I'm stuck with old POTS lines costing $$$. Does this sound right?
Currently I'm paying in the region of $1,500 per months for 7 lines and internet whereas if they were to provide me with the SIP Trunks for use with our Asterisk system my bill would be cut to $250.
Does this sound right to you. Surely with SIP Trunks I should be able to choose what ever freaking hardware I want to choose.
