A while ago, I posted about getting native IPv6 working using pfSense through the bridged port 1 of a T2200H. At the time, it was not possible to get pfSense working without a hack due to some "ideosyncracies" of Telus' edge routers. Some people in the pfSense community have been working on this issue, because it's not only a Telus issue, but rather the issue is with other ISPs as well. I've been testing some patches that seem to work well with the Telus network. In case others want to get this working, I'll post some info below. This isn't going to be a detailed enough for someone who hasn't used pfSense or other similar router before, but hopefully it will help interested parties to get it working. When the patches make it into a development snapshot or a release, I'll post an update.
Step 1. Download pfsense from www.pfsense.org/download and install it using the "quick / easy" mode. The latest version is 2.3.2. the patches that you will install below work with this version. Use default settings unless you know what you're doing. (I am not using VLAN, so if you need that, you're on your own.) During the installation, you will have to identify the WAN and LAN NICs. You should be able to identify them by the MAC address.
Step 2. Install the Patch package.
Step 3. Install the following patches, in the order they are listed below.
RA Fix (first patch) 8c661bc8555321b76656e8a9723b4a7189eceb30
RA Fix (second patch) 8deada1f3e8db508e8e583e5287e465548f33325
After the patches are installed, it should look like this:
[att=1]
Step 4. Configure WAN Interface using these settings:
[att=2]
Step 5. Configure DHCP6 Client using these settings:
[att=3]
Step 6. Configure the router advertisements using these settings:
[att=4]
At this point, reboot the router, either using the console or diagnostics / reboot.
