Hello folks, just posting to say that this morning I received an email from legit abuse@telus.com regarding my account. They said that at 4:37am last night my IP was used in a botnet DDOS attack and the botnet is called Dorkbot.
They informed me to scan my computers and said that the account would be suspended if it continued happening.
I don't get it. There's only two computers in the house and one Android phone. One's a high end gaming PC with premium malwarebytes, the other is a chromebook that was purchased about 12 hours before the supposed attack, and chromebooks also have their own protection. My v1000h wifi is locked down with WPA authentication and a hexidecimal password, and the port they said was used for the attack is not given any permissions in routing.
I'm not sure what to tell Telus because I don't even feel like it could have been from my residence.
