I live in Central Alberta and been playing Call of Duty: Black ops 3 on the PC since it came out without network problems, but for a few months now I have not been connecting to the Seattle server and instead being routed through Seattle to Chicago and Matawan making a noticeable difference in the connection with the slow tick rate. Is this possibly from Telus in some way?
I've tried talking to a dev asking if the server was removed he said it was not and tried some things. After changing lobbies for the next 30 games to see if it would ever connect to the closest server his conclusion was that it be rerouting due to the forest fire even though I don't live near it and my connection doesn't go north. Since providing trace routes to him mid may I haven't gotten a reply and the connection has not corrected itself.
I had a similar problem on console where the peer to peer system was always putting me in games from the southern states instead of local games in Edmonton and Calgary unless I played with a friend near Calgary. Dunno if that's related to this issue on how the traffic is being routed. I don't really have other games to test on as other games I play either only have one server for NA, or have a server browser.
