Telus Email Settings for Android / Paid Tech Support?!?!?

I just got a new phone, Samsung GS7. When I added the account for my telus email, it automatically configured the settings. I found it was only receiving emails, but not sending, so I checked online for configuration. I found this page, "Set up TELUS email on your Android smartphone or tablet" (http://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/article/set-up-email-android-phone-tablet), which is dated April 5, 2016. It specifies SSL for both imap and smtp, but doesn't use the proper SSL port numbers. If I try to use those settings, it doesn't work at all. It also doesn't work if I chose the proper SSL ports. The settings are rejected. I found that it only works with SSL turned off. Why is Telus suggesting to use SSL, when their servers apparently don't support SSL? I called Telus and spoke with a completely ignorant CSR. I asked him to transfer me to tech support. He told me I would have to pay. WTF?!?!?!? I told him I've been a Telus customer for years and I should not have to pay for tech support to get their settings to work to access the telus emall that I'm paying for on my phone. He transferred me to tech support and the first thing they asked was for my contact information to set up an account. I hung up. I've been pissed off at Telus many times over the years, but this really takes the cake.
