My uncle's place in Wetaskiwin, he was told was recently strung with an aerial fiber line.
They did it while they weren't home, because he didn't know when they were coming.
Now, address qualifier says he is ready for 100 service, and TV, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.
The aerial cable just goes to a box on the side of his house. I haven't seen it yet, but described as just a flat telephone wire.
He hasn't opened the box yet, but swears it looks like flat telephone wire.
Is it possible this is a FTTN install? Or is this likely to be true fiber run?
I thought they normally make sure the home owner was home to run the line right to where the ONT will be located, not a splice in the demarc box, which is why we believe this just may be copper to the home.
We would be happier with FTTN, but either will be better than current.
