[Mobility] Mobility 'extended coverage'(roaming with the carriers)

Was looking at cell tower maps and coverage. Noticed this. To cover the gaps left by carriers not having a cell tower in your traveling region, 'extended coverage' is used to assure access to services, whether that be assured 911 or other calling/data needs. Your phone will show the label of EXT under available networks. 'Roaming data' is same price as your local tower data. Will be throttled. Post-paid customers only. Some of your plans features may be spotty. When going roaming, any current call/data may be interrupted and require reconnecting. If your 'roaming' on any data method happens to exceed your time in your cell company's home tower areas, you will be bent over to face punishment. 51%-49% Telus help page. We do know that domestic roaming deals have been signed between Rogers (including Fido), Bell, TELUS and Videotron that will practically extend coverage and offer seamless roaming, also called soft handoff, between carrier partners in areas with poor or absent service.Rogers launches 'extended coverage'. Great news for Rogers users in BC, who go off the standard sheep trail. March 4 2015 http://mobilesyrup.com/2015/02/27/rogers-launching-domestic-roaming-on-march-4th-heres-the-coverage-map/ Most Canadian carriers will be implementing these kinds of domestic roaming agreements — such as Videotron, Bell and TELUS – and the Rogers and Fido coverage maps have been updated today to reflect this new option. The locations are predominantly in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Northern Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. Customers will be notified by a text message the first time they enter an Extended Coverage area, and will also see “Rogers – EXT” or “Fido – EXT” on their device. -- Lemon socialism: Privatize profits.
